St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Restaurant Week will be bigger and better this year with more participating restaurants and even more delicious food, say organizers.
During Restaurant Week locals and visitors alike will be able to take advantage of special menus at discounted prices at restaurants and small eateries across St. Kitts and Nevis.
The event is slated for July 13 to 24. This year's theme is "Dine Out and Eat".
Speaking at Wednesday’s (April 13) media launch for the second annual Restaurant Week, Danielle Weekes with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, said the response to the inaugural event last year was overwhelming. More than 30 dining establishments participated in 2015 and she expects many more to come onboard following the resounding success of last year's event
The Department of Agriculture is again partnering with the organizers of Restaurant Week and pumpkin has been selected as this year’s featured ingredient. Melvin James, Director of the Agriculture Department assures that local farmers can supply all the fresh produce restaurants will require for Restaurant Week special menus. He has called on restaurants and food vendors to get creative with menu items during Restaurant Week and beyond.
Carlene Henry Morton, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, said a wide cross section of the private sector stakeholders stand to benefit from the event. She said Restaurant Week is gaining popularity locally and internationally and St. Kitts is now incorporating the culinary element to its expanding tourism product.
