St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); A second wave of artistes for the St. Kitts Music Festival 2017 was on Tuesday (Feb 28) revealed to the public.

Chairman of the Music Festival Artiste Selection Sub-Committee Jonel Powell, speaking with WINN FM:

“The artistes we are releasing in this second wave, we have in the reggae genre the band Third World, who is on a tour celebrating the fortieth anniversary of its hit album and single 96 degrees in the shade. We also have in that genre Ed Robinson who would be known for his cover of Knocking on Heaven’s Door. We also have songstress Phylissia Ross to add a bit of French flavor to the Festival this year.

“Coming out of the Soca arena we have Ricardo Drue, the reigning Groovy Soca Monarch from Antigua;  ID Nation; and we have Voice, who was recently crowned for the second straight year Soca Monarch out of Trinidad and Tobago; and rounding out the soca artistes for this release Teddyson John out of St. Lucia; and Lyrikal out of Trinidad and Tobago.”

Powell said Music Festival fans can expect more artistes to be rolled out but did not give a specific release date.

“This is just a teaser. We are very close to releasing the final line up. We still have quite a bit more for the people for this year’s Music Festival.”

He said the names of the local acts performing this year will soon be released and the Committee is aiming to have at least the same number of artistes from the Federation on the line up as they did in 2016.

On February 1st the Music Festival Organizing Committee announced the first wave of acts for the June 22-24th event- Jah Cure, Shabba Ranks, Goo Goo Dolls, and Mavado.
