St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); The 18-year-old girl caught smuggling cocaine into Nevis on Friday will on Wednesday go before the Charlestown Magistrate Court.

Brittany Paola Peets of Malone Avenue, a student of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College, is seeking bail after being charged with Possession of Cocaine,  Possession of Cocaine with intent to supply, and Importation of Cocaine.

The teen arrived at the Vance Amory International Airport in Nevis Friday on a flight from St. Maarten. She was stopped and searched and several packages containing cocaine were discovered in her luggage. Police report that the drugs weighed 2.5 kilos.

Peets, a foreign national residing in St. Kitts since early childhood, has been in police custody since her arrest. 

Update** Peets was granted bail in the amount of $25,000 with two sureties. Unable to meet the bail conditions, the teen was still in police custody up until late Wednesday.
