St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Making economic growth inclusive – that’s one of the messages left behind by an International Monetary Fund Mission that ended a visit to the federation this past week.

The Team was headed by IMF Mission Chief Inci Otker.

She noted that the government was already moving towards ensuring that the benefits of growth are spread across the population.

“What we also like is they would like to enhance the resilience of the economy, and also make any growth that would be achieved inclusive, which we interpret as spread the benefit of growth across the population, take care of the poor as well as the more wealthy and also address some of the social issues such as health, non-communicable diseases as well as poverty and crime. So these are all very important objective to address and we welcome the authorities efforts in that direction.”

According to a government release, the IMF Mission also commended the government on its efforts to strengthen the federation’s Citizenship by Investment Programme.
