St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The nation mourns the loss of another young life. Twenty-seven year old Gregory Mills was shot dead in the area of Guillard Meadows in St Peter's late Tuesday afternoon, according to reports reaching WINN FM.
Mr. Mills is described as respected young entrepreneur who owned and operated Greg's Pizza which was recently operating next to Morton's Supermarket on Cayon Street.
At news time there is no official report on this shooting death or any word on the circumstances or the investigations that are underway.
Ambassador Jonel Powell expressed sadness at the passing of Mr. Mills.
“Let me start off by expressing my deepest condolences to the family of the late Gregory Mills. I more than knew of him I knew him personally, this is somebody that I would stop and have a drink with or chat with on a regular basis. The only way I would describe him was as a really good man, entrepreneur and it’s really a loss for the entire country and society. This is an example of a really good young man who has been taken at the prime of his life and has just been reduced to another statistic and not a good statistic. Ten homicides for the year and some may say we’ve had more by this point in previous years but I believe that one is too much and this is really an issue that really has to be addressed. It’s clear this crime and murder issue is not political now and we need to forget about the politics and everybody needs to come on board and really put all minds and hands together to get something done.”
