St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): According to a press release by the Police Force, a male resident of Halfway Tree was shot by an unknown assailant during a robbery on Friday evening, June 23rd.

The gunman left the scene shortly after.

The victim was injured and taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment.

Another shooting incident happened on the same Friday in Upper Cayon, involving a 28 year-old male who was shot while walking in the area, ten minutes before the Halfway Tree shooting.

The victim was also wounded and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police currently have no persons in custody for the crime, but investigations are ongoing.
