Social Media and the impact on journalism

 

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The advent of the social media changes the way journalists do their work today, according to social media specialist for Nationwide Radio in Jamaica Dennis Brooks. But Mr. Brooks is of the view that despite the increase in citizen journalism through social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, the traditional media houses are still being depended upon for accuracy of information. 

Mr. Brooks, a guest on WINN FM’s Voices program last Wednesday said a good journalist must make use of the social media as a means of enhancing profile.
