September 21, 2009 (Basseterre)- Finance Ministers from the Eastern Caribbean gathered at the regions Central Bank for the 6^th special meeting of the Monetary Council.

The meeting followed nine days of brainstorming in the form of a boot camp during which officials from member states looked at components of the regions strategic policy response to the global economic and financial crisis.

Chairman of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU), Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, outlined the steps to be taken to combat the crisis and assist member countries.
