Poverty Top Priority For CDB
LISTEN

St. Kitts & Nevis – February 5, 2010: Alleviating poverty across the Caribbean is a top priority for the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) through its flagship regional poverty alleviation programme, the Basic Needs Trust Fund or (BNTF). In its quest for poverty reduction, a four day regional workshop entitled “Management for Development Results” is being held in the Federation during which CDB Officials, regional BNTF officers and local stakeholders in poverty mitigation will be trained in the techniques and requirements for identifying, creating, implementing and monitoring sub-projects designed to attain development results. Regional Portfolio Manager for BNTF, Mrs. Denise Noel-DeBique spoke to WINN FM 98.9 about how they identify poverty on respective islands in the region.

“Con-Artists” Watch out for them! They come to the Caribbean Dressed in expensive suits, briefcases in their hands and grandiose business plans promising progress for Caribbean people when in fact their hidden agenda is to exploit what they consider to be our ignorance of big business ventures. Who do they think they are fooling?

i think its a good thing the Caribbean Development Bank is trying to do,but i would really like to know which of the Caribbean Leaders have Alleviating poverty to heart. Not when the leaders top priority is to stay in power at the expense of the poor people,i think the easiest people to control in any country is the poor people especially when u can just hand feed them and give them a 50 or 100 dollars every 4 or 5 years to stay in power.this is happening throughout the Caribbean countries.

“Alleviating Poverty” should be the CDB main concern. It must be totally vigilant and guard against financial vultures and vampires who will stop at nothing in order to use its fanatical resource to profit at the expense of Caribbean people. Guard the chickens and the eggs from those mongooses!
