St. Kitts & Nevis – February 5, 2010: Toyota vehicles sold in the Federation are not among those recalled by the manufacturers. That is according to TDC Group of Companies, the only authorized Toyota dealer in St. Kitts and Nevis. A statement from the company said the recall applies to left hand drive models produced and sold in the US market only. TDC imports its range of Toyota vehicles under an Exclusive Authorized Dealership Agreement. These vehicles are manufactured and imported directly from the Toyota Factory in Japan. A press release dated Feb. 2 2010 from Toyota Motor Corporation to TDC Ltd said all Toyota models sold through TDC are not affected by the recall exercise. Toyota recalled the vehicles made in the United States: 2009-2010 Rav4, the 2009-2010 Corolla, the 2009-2010 Matrix, the 2005-2010 Avalon, the 2007-2010 Camry, the 2010 Highlander, the 2007-2010 Tundra and the 2008-2010 Sequoia.
The accelerator pedal components of the affect models used in the US markets are different from the Toyota models sold in St. Kitts and Nevis. TDC Automotive Management said it will continue to monitor any further developments on this recall on a daily basis.
