Martin, Skerritt Appointed Speaker and Deputy Speaker Of The House
LISTEN
St. Kitts & Nevis - March 10, 2010 (WINN): Curtis Martin was appointed Speaker of the House earlier this morning and Senator Ricky Skerritt as Deputy Speaker during the opening of the National Assembly. In order to take the position, Senator Skerritt had to resign his position as Minister of Tourism, which he was appointed at the swearing-in of the Cabinet of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis. Attorney General and Member of Parliament for Nevis 11 announced that Senator Skerritt had officially resigned his position, though he did not say when this was done. It is also not certain at this time, who is the Minister of Tourism.
Meanwhile, some local journalists who were covering the opening of the National Assembly this morning were barred from chambers and were told to monitor the proceedings from the media room. Click on the lnk to listen more on this report.

Neutral give me a break and leave the Prime Minister out of this. An hones reflection will reveal that is PAM who brings on this additional burden all the while running up and down in court trying to stop what the law allows and now refusing o be part of the process by not accepting deputy speaker position. Hope you and them realise they not hurting PM nor Labour. They are putting the country into more debt that they keep talking about. Beg you all grow up and pull Grant up too. Leave PM alone
Yea Right

Nutten dere to hide when de ting LIVE on radio and tv and plus people dere sitting down. Are you tek everything out of context before knowing or even without seeking facts. Please try make some kind of positive contribution to make a difference in the same country you all think not running good. And get accustomed to Labour being in government because there is absolutely nothing you all can do about it. Celebrate the nation, build and stop find nonsense to dwell on. set of idle low minded people

It is apparent that parliment will increase the amount of senators so that Ricky could get his job back thus causing the tax payers to pay that additional senator's salary. Is this fair to the Kittitian public Mr. Prime Minister?

Good partnership Ricky, PAM thought they could stall the opening of Parliament but we bigger than them. We brighter than dem. Let dem tek that. More to come
justice

Little boy Ricky Skerritt is really the lap dog and puppet of Douglas. It is amazing how someone who suppose to be so smart has become such a pappishow. Then again he has already sold his soul, so maybe it is not surprising. All Douglas has to say is Jump, and Skerrit will ask how high.
NOT SURPRISE

My question is why some local journalist & not all? I guess he will start his Dictatorship by muzzling the local journalist/ media house.

All you confusion and immature people and supporters of PAM shut up and open your eyes to their childish folly. That proves we cant be sidelined. You are dealing with a government who is always ready for your tactics. Tek Dat!!! And by the way dont make an issue of this, Media Room is for Media. You guys just need to let the progress roll on and stop trying amke issue out of everything. Government will do what it has to do to ensure the work and representation of its people go on uninterrupted
YEA RIGHT
