Basseterre, St. Kitts – Mojitos Bar St. Kitts (at La Casa Del Habano) hosted the Dominica Maria Relief Jazz Night on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at their Port Zante location to raise funds for neighbouring Caribbean island Dominica, which was totally decimated with the passage of Hurricane Maria.

In total, EC$27,336.25 was raised through raffles, drink sales and contributions by the St. Kitts-Nevis business community and donated to the Dominica Association of St. Kitts and Nevis (DASKN) to assist with ongoing relief efforts by the group within their native island.
The money raised for the relief efforts was presented on behalf of Mojitos Bar by Sally Martin in a small handover ceremony on Friday September 29th, to members of the DASKN. Present for the handing-over were, DASKN President Miriam Etienne, Vice President Carla Astaphan, Assistant PRO Elizabeth Williams, Bruce Skerritt of The Liamuiga Project and Markysa O’Loughlin of Mojitos Bar.

This contribution would not have been possible without the help of our patrons and generous donors and sponsors”. She continued “Thank you all for partying with a purpose and helping us to raise funds for our brothers and sisters in need.”

Notable mention to sponsors and contributors: Rams Duty Free for the donation of gift vouchers and a significant amount of drink products, the Universal Caribbean University, represented by Mr. Sandeep Swain, which made a very special donation of EC$8,000, Ocean Terrace Inn, Dolce Vita and Boozies.
Mojitos Bar St. Kitts has been committed to supporting many charitable causes in the twin island Federation since its opening in 2015.
The Dominica Association of St. Kitts and Nevis graciously thanked Mojitos Bar for the support and contributions and were also grateful for the support received from other entities and members of the community who are helping to make a difference in Dominica’s recovery.
