CSS Beat CFBC To Qualify For High Schools’ Finals

St. Kitts and Nevis (Curtis Morton): The Charlestown Secondary School beat the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College into submission on Friday 15th March to qualify for the 2013 finals of the Giant Malt High Schools’ cricket championship. The match was played at the ET Willet Park.
CSS won the toss and batted and amassed a challenging 219 for 6 in the allotted 35 overs. Saeed Williams charmed the crowd with a stroke filled 56 which included 10 X 4’s. Chavil Archibald also entertained with an aggressive 45 which included 7 X 4’s. Also making significant contributions were: Ross Powell 24; Philo Wallace 23; Bervis Burke 23.
For the CFBC, Curlis Powell bagged 2 for 44; Shane Venner 1 for 50 and Leachin Phipps 1 for 26. CFBC when they batted could only muster 175 for 7, led by an exciting innings of 61 by Letanio Ferdinand, which included 10 X 4’s. Dymon Parris stroked 32 not out.
For CSS Hakeem Harvey snared 2 for 19; Nigel Hanley 2 for 29 and Timothy Cumberbatch 2 for 29. CSS winning by 44 runs.
