St. Kitts and Nevis: An exciting community Cricket match is in the offing this weekend as the Zion and Hickman’s communities, along with surrounding villages, continue in their quest for renewed community spirit and camaraderie. A very exciting wind ball match has been proposed for Sunday 30th June at the Hickman’s Play field when the over 40’s team will engage the under 40’s.
There will be lots of food and drink in galore, as the over 40’s have been given the responsibility of providing the food, while the under 40’s will provide the drinks. It promises to be a cracker as some persons who have not played Cricket in ages, are set to take to the field. Meredith Browne is down to play, along with Doctor BAL Rawlins who may not be as comfortable with the bat as he is with the stethoscope. LIME manager, Jerome Rawlins is also listed in the team but word is that he may well be relegated to being the official scorer.
More names like Will Storrod, George Morris; Sterling Marshall, Jervan Swanston and company have been banded about but there is some skepticism that the ambulance service may be asked to be on standby as it is being predicted that Dr.Rawlins may have his work load cut out for him in performing first aid and that he himself may end up on the patients’ list. Whatever transpires, you can rest assured that there will be fun, laughter and excitement. Admission is free and a bumper crowd is expected for the 3 pm start.
