St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris is urging his supporters to turn off their radio rather than listen to what he described as nonsense.

“They don’t want to talk about that, they want to talk about all kind of distractions that is why you have to be focused and that is why I said to you already and they were vex and they kick up, but me nah study them. Do not listen to the nonsense that many of them are speaking on radio programs, do not bother with them and rather than let your pressure go up over the nonsense, my advice is turn them off!! Turn them off!! Let the miserable reporter pick up that, turn them off!!! When people chatting nonsense you don’t vex your spirit, you turn them off!!”

The message is simple, fix your sight on Jesus and there will be no distraction.

We live in a diverse society and persons should be free to express themselves, even if others disagree. This is not a monolithic society. Even if ideologies are diametrically opposed, each person has a right to be heard; even the dull and ignorant have a right to articulate their point of view. What can be done is do as the old folk said when I was a youth and that is to pick the sense out of the nonsense. Remember when a party is in opposition, that party will do and say anything or have their supporters and underlinks say what they feel will be believed. If people take the time to investigate the facts then they will be educated consumers of information and will be able to disseminate correct information. Like in The Sky is Falling it did not matter if the sky was really falling, the objective was to get believers.
