St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN); A St. Kitts and Nevis national living in St. Maarten succumbed to his injuries Wednesday morning after he was shot several times Tuesday night.

According to Police reports from that island, Nino Thewet also known as Nino Brown, was one of two men at a car wash on Arch Road in Sucker Garden when gunmen attacked.

Police said the Emergency Dispatch received the first call at approximately 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday informing them that two unknown masked gunmen entered the building on the premises and shot the two men inside.

Both victims were transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further medical treatment and listed in critical condition.

Media reports on St. Maarten reported that Thewet passed away just after midnight, while the second shooting victim remains hospitalized.

Persons in St. Kitts who grew up with Thewet in McKnight told WINN FM that while his father’s side of the family lives in St. Maarten, his mother still resides in St. Kitts.

St. Maarten Police said the motive and other details of the shooting are being investigated.
